Lived here 3 years - rarely experienced maintenance issues, when I have - maintenance responds and repairs any issues.
Renewing has been clear and easy - the leasing office is very friendly, clear, and straightforward with all information.
I am looking forward to continuing my stay

This property used to be a desired location , not any more. The office personnel is indifferent at best to maintenance requets. There are only 2 maintenance men for over 200 units. The property is becoming covered with trash from residents. People walk dogs unleashed and dont pick up after pets. Can hardly wait to move. And they keep increasing the rent. Pay more for less.

The new company eagle rock has been amazing. The office staff is friendly, and maintenance is helpful and communicates. There has been a serious improvement since the last company.

This is the absolute worst place to live. The management is terrible.
Initially, they moved me in under 3 Towson University frat buddies that partied hard and loud into the early morning hours any day of the week. During Covid (December 2020), the frat boys vomited in the hallway and I reported it to the management so it could be cleaned up. It remained in my building's common hallway for 2 more days. They moved me within my first week there to another apartment that had not so new looking... carpeting but I just needed to move.
I sustained an injury at the pool after they left pieces of fragmented wood sticking up, along the cement and grass line. I managed to slice the bottom of my foot on it while at the pool. The lifeguard proceeded to assist with a bandaid.
They shut my water off without notice 8 times in a 4 month period claiming "emergencies" and the fact that they are renovating.
I sent a complaint about the months of renovations in the unit above mine in April. It is now nearly October and guess what, still renovating.
The lifeguard at the pool can't do their job as many residents see that as a place to drop their children all day in the summer, unattended.
Someone was killed across the street last year in a drug deal gone wrong and our buildings are still left completely unsecured and without any cameras to keep an eye out for our safety. There was even a stabbing in the complex a year ago. Still no security here at all.
My packages have been stolen so I have to have them sent to my parents' house.
There have been multiple leaks from the apartment above mine and they haven't replaced the soaked drywall.
They threaten to fine you for leaving anything on your porch or in the hallways, yet they are renovating and allow the trash to be left on balconies for weeks.
The renovations can sometimes go late into the night. I complained to management multiple times about this and they have done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. I have photo evidence of all these materials being left out by contractors and doors to units under renovation left open all day and night. I have pointed them out to management. Still nothing. I asked to be released one month early from my lease, and pay 1 month where I will not be living there. They denied said request even with all the issues here. Save your sanity and live anywhere else in Towson.

I’ve been living at the 5 east community for a few months now, and I moved here because of the locations convenience. Recently (a month ago), new neighbors moved into the building and started smoking almost daily. This in turn, led to the smell of marijuana coming into my apartment daily as well.
The smell is strong enough to wake my roommate out of his sleep. My Mother came over the Thanksgiving weekend and thought me and my roommate smoked in our apartment cause the smell is that strong/bad.... The community claims to be ”smoke-free”; however, this doesn't seem to be true unless the owners say so.
This probably wouldn't be as bad of an issue if my roommate didn't have asthma and was affecting his health. We pointed this out to management, and they did not seem to care. They also tried to offer a solution that was not ideal for us, such as offering us a more expensive apartment. I, as a resident that's done nothing wrong, shouldn't have to pay more to feel comfortable in my own home
From the outside, the community seems pleasant, but once you move in, it's a completely different story. My feelings toward 5 east is that all they care about is your money and couldn't care less about its current residents.
